Translation (Written) Track

The Translation (Written) Track provides advanced training in specialized written translation, including terminology management, translation technologies, audiovisual translation, and translation for the European Union and other international institutions. The curriculum emphasizes practical work with professional text types, institutional genres, and discourse domains, in line with current market and institutional practices.

Students develop strong skills in research, documentation, and translation tools, preparing them for professional work in institutional, corporate, and media-related translation settings, as well as for further academic study.

Graduates of the Translation (Written) Track are well prepared for a range of professional roles, including in-house or freelance translator for institutions (e.g. EU and other international organizations) or companies; terminology manager; localization specialist; audiovisual translator; language services provider project assistant; and research or documentation specialist. The track also provides a solid foundation for postgraduate study and research in translation studies and related fields.

Through extensive training in discourse analysis, contextual awareness, world knowledge, current affairs, and professional communication, graduates of both tracks acquire a broad set of overlapping competencies. In addition to translation and interpreting roles, these competencies enable graduates to work in positions such as project or programme assistants in international organizations, humanitarian institutions, NGOs, and multilingual professional environments. The analytical, organizational, and communication skills developed in the programme also provide a strong basis for career progression within institutional and corporate structures.
