INTERPRETING TRACK

The Interpreting Track provides advanced training in consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, with an emphasis on professional standards and real-life communicative situations. Students develop high-level listening, analysis, memory, and reformulation skills through intensive practice, supported by targeted work on terminology, discourse, and subject-matter knowledge.

The curriculum prepares students to perform effectively in institutional, conference, and community contexts, allowing them to select senior-year courses in line with their professional interests and strengths.

Graduates of the Interpreting Track are well prepared for professional interpreter roles such as community or liaison interpreter, and interpreting assistant or trainee in international institutions, projects and other language services settings.

Through extensive training in discourse analysis, contextual awareness, world knowledge, current affairs, and professional communication, graduates of both tracks acquire a broad set of overlapping competencies. In addition to translation and interpreting roles, these competencies enable graduates to work in positions such as project or programme assistants in international organizations, humanitarian institutions, NGOs, and multilingual professional environments. The analytical, organizational, and communication skills developed in the programme also provide a strong basis for career progression within institutional and corporate structures.
